Strike button failure
My trusted ECE smoothing plane is showing some wear and tear. It also gives us an insight into how it's made and the high quality of these planes.
It wasn't that loose but I noticed it when I was adjusting the plane, a little klonk when I hit the button. Nothing major, and probably something I could have lived with, but I decided to try an fix it.
The Plan of attack is to just glue it back in with some hide glue, and hope for the best. If that doesn't work I will drill out a bigger hole, plug it and then drill a new hole for the strike button. But let's hope I don't have to do that.
